Batch Group Existing Items

Available on the Newegg.com, Neweggbusiness.com, and Newegg.ca platforms.

NOTE:
Starting from July 21, 2025, if the old template is used to submit products, only individual item creation will be supported. Variant grouping will no longer be processed using the legacy group-by property.

To make sure customers can easily find all your products, please group the same product with multiple variations, such as a chair with different color options.

Doing so can show customers all your product variations available on one page to save customers time and avoid finding different product variations from multiple product pages. This change is highly suggested to improve your customers’ overall shopping experience and improve sales performance.

If you have existing items that are not grouped yet, please follow the steps below to group them together.

Note: Your listing must be active and must be in an applicable subcategory that is enabled for grouping.

How-To Batch Group Existing Items:

  1. Go to Seller Portal and hover your mouse pointer over the list icon (upper left corner) then select Items > Batch Item Grouping.
  2. Click DOWNLOAD FILE TEMPLATE.
  3. Open the file: that was just downloaded “Batch_
    Group_Items”, there are 2 worksheets please review accordingly.

    1. Data Definitions sheet: review accepted values and requirements.
    2. Batch Group Items sheet: where you enter your listings information for grouping.
  4. For example, if you have the following SKUs which are not grouped 001, 002, and 003 then do the following:
    1. Go Batch Group Items sheet.
    2. In row 2 under column A enter 002 then under column B enter 001.
    3. In row 3 under column A enter 003 then under column B enter 001.
    4. This will request the system to group 002 and 003 to 001.
  1. Uploading the template:
    1. Save file.
    2. Click Select files then Upload Files.
  2. Check if the template uploaded successfully or not under Uploaded File Status and History:
    1. By default, in the Date field, Newegg provides the last 3 days of upload.  Adjust the filter accordingly.
    2. Click REFRESH LIST to check the Status of the upload.
    3. Status with Completed, Failed, or Completed with errors, click View Details to check the reason for failed/error.
  1. Once successfully grouped on the product page, the items will show variation options. Note: After successfully creating the variation, allow at least 24 hours for it to reflect.
