Creating Your SEM Campaign
Navigate to the SEM campaign tool here. Within the SEM tool simply scroll down to fill in the following details.
- Add your Campaign details.
- Select the Ad Platform.
- Add Products from your list to promote:
- For Google Shopping, Bing, and Affiliate ads, select the products you want to promote from your product list.
- Create Ads (For Google Search Only)
- Landing Page: Enter the URL where users will land after clicking on your ad.
- Headline: Write a catchy headline that grabs attention. The image suggests multiple headlines can be added (at least 3).
- Descriptions: Craft descriptions that highlight the benefits of your product or service. Again, multiple descriptions may be required (at least 2).
- Preview: Use the preview section to see how your ad will appear to users.
- keywords that potential customers might use to find your product or service. Use the appropriate match types to control how closely a keyword needs to match a user’s search term.
- Broad match: Targets related searches (e.g., “running shoes” targets “shoes for running”).
- Exact match: Targets exact searches (e.g., “running shoes” only targets “running shoes”).
- Phrase match: Targets searches containing a specific phrase (e.g., “running shoes” targets “best running shoes”).
- Enter your budget under Spend.
- Enter any Negative Keywords: Target keywords or phrases that you do not want your ads to show up for.
Click submit. Congrats you launched your SEM campaign!
When the information is complete and all of the checkpoints are a green checkmark, don’t forget to click the [ SUBMIT ] button to save your campaign.
Spend Options
1. Conversions: Maximize Conversions (Google Search Only)
- What It Is: This option is for getting as many conversions (like sales or sign-ups) as possible within your budget. The platform adjusts your bids automatically to achieve this.
- When to Use: Choose this if your main goal is to get more conversions and you’re okay with the platform managing the bids for you.
2. Target ROAS (Return on Ad Spend)
- What It Is: This setting focuses on achieving a specific return on the money you spend on ads. For example, if you want $5 back for every $1 you spend, you set a target ROAS of 500%.
- When to Use: Use this if you want to make sure your ads are giving you a certain return on investment.
3. Maximize Clicks: Click to the Max
- What It Is: This option aims to get as many clicks as possible within your budget. It’s useful if your goal is to drive more traffic to your website or landing page.
- When to Use: Choose this if your focus is on getting more visitors to your site, rather than converting them into customers.
Understanding Ad Performance
To view Ads performance by product level, take the following steps:
CREATE REPORT > NEW REPORT and select the according type.
