Newegg values the health and safety of our customers. As items sold on the Newegg Marketplace are reported due to safety concerns or product recalls, our internal team of experts will work together to make sure these items are either taken off the website or includes important safety information provided to our customers.
Once Newegg receives a notification of a recall notice or product safety concern, the below are actions we take to ensure that Newegg provides the best customer experience possible.
- Verify notification from the source and action required
- Pull all detailed order information which includes customer contact
- Restrict the item(s) in question
- Contact the sellers about the required and work out a resolution plan
- Contact customers and execute resolution plan
- Follow up closely with the source

California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) Warnings
As a seller, you’re responsible for complying with all applicable laws including warning requirements mandated by California’s Proposition 65 or Prop 65. This include both existing and new items. You must consider the following:
- Does the product you’re selling need a Prop 65 warning message included
- If you’re the brand owner and/or item creator, please make sure if the item you’re selling needs the Prop 65 warning
- Make sure you include it in your listing
- This includes both parent item and child item level

- California Proposition 65 Warning (applicable to brand owners and item creator) – If you’re the brand owner or the item creator, you’ll have the option to include or remove a California Prop 65 warning.
- To add, click on “Add California Proposition 65 Warning” and then select the applicable warning message
- To remove, click the minus button next to the warning message
